Lodestones and luck
What are lodestones, exactly?
Lodestones are pieces of rock which are natural magnets. Lodestones come in all different sizes, from the very big to the very small. Sometimes the lodestones will be sprinkled with magnetic sand (finely ground iron shot) to boost its effects.
Are lodestones free?
If you find a natural piece of magnetic rock in your garden, then yes – it’s free. Otherwise a specialist shop dealing in the occult will sell them. Just make sure you ask the owner you want one that increases your luck, and one you want to carry around with you.
Why lodestones?
In the old days when they first found this stone and discovered its unusual properties, they formed the opinion that the rock was supernatural. Since it influenced its surroundings somewhat, it was believed the stone could attract power, fame, fortune, and even luck. Lodestones were even purported to be able to do a wide variety of other things.
Really? Is this true? I can save my marriage this way? I can improve my luck this way?
Sadly, there are only anecdotal evidence to support it, and anecdotal evidence to disprove it. It can probably not affect your marriage, but it may influence your luck. There are no guarantees.
Trivia about lodestone:
• Known as early as 800BC in both Europe and china
• Led to the invention of the compass
• Was said to cure a wide variety of ailments and even infidelity
• Used extensively in folk magic
• Can be painted colours that are said to attract specific types of luck these are:
o Red (love)
o Green, Gold and Silver (money)
o White (magical protection & blessings)
o Blue (serenity)
o Black (power over others)
I don’t suggest you paint your stone black. For obvious reasons.
